Australian shares traded higher at midday, with the S&P/ASX 200 gaining 0.30% to 9,260.00 at 12.39 pm AEST. Investors are awaiting the Reserve Bank’s interest rate decision at 2.30pm, with the central bank expected to leave rates unchanged. Energy led the gains as Brent crude moved towards US$88 a barrel amid further delays to a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Santos jumped after shipping its first crude oil cargo from the Pikka Phase 1 project in Alaska, while Woodside also advanced on stronger oil prices. Technology stocks were among the weakest, with Life360 falling sharply after its earnings result, while investors also digested updates from SGH and Helia as the local reporting season gathered pace.

Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) hits high-grade silver at Orient
Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) has reported further high-grade silver results from drilling at its Orient Silver-Indium Project in North Queensland. Results included 100 metres at 73 grams per tonne silver equivalent, while several holes also intersected high-grade massive sulphide zones. The company said the results continue to support the potential for an open-pit operation at Orient. Its initial 110-hole drilling program is expected to be completed in around five weeks, with an updated mineral resource targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026 ahead of a scoping study in 2027.
Nanoveu (ASX:NVU) secures US$300,000 EyeFly3D pilot order in India
Nanoveu (ASX:NVU) has secured a US$300,000 pilot order as part of an agreement with One Immersive to launch its EyeFly3D glasses-free 3D mobile technology across India. Nanoveu has already received US$165,000, with the balance expected following final shipment by the fourth quarter of 2026. The rollout will target Apple and Android devices and provides a pathway to a major Indian content platform with more than 100 million monthly active users. Subject to a successful pilot, the companies plan to work towards larger follow-on orders.
LTR Pharma (ASX:LTP) has reported results from a 147-patient real-world study of its SPONTAN nasal spray, with 68% of the overall group reporting improved erectile hardness and/or achieving penetration. Among men seeking greater convenience and spontaneity, the reported response was 93%. The study also reported a 64% response among post-prostatectomy patients and 57% among men who had previously reported inadequate results from oral treatments. The data will be presented at the APCC in Melbourne this week, with a manuscript submitted for peer review.
Mont Royal Resources (ASX:MRZ) joins US defence-backed critical minerals consortium
Mont Royal Resources (ASX:MRZ) has been accepted into the US Defense Industrial Base Consortium, a US Department of Defense-supported network focused on strengthening industrial capability and supply chains. The membership supports development of the company’s Ashram Rare Earth and Fluorspar Project in Québec. Membership gives Mont Royal access to a network of US defence agencies, contractors, research groups and technology developers, as well as opportunities to participate in future defence initiatives. The company noted that membership itself does not provide funding but expands access to potential collaboration opportunities.
Lithium Universe (ASX:LU7) achieves 97% gold purity from extraction technology
Lithium Universe (ASX:LU7) has reported further positive laboratory results from its licensed Gold Copper Diamide Extraction technology, achieving gold recoveries above 99% and producing metallic gold with purity of 97.04%. The process also achieved 98% gold recovery from dissolved electronic waste. The technology uses a recyclable reagent and requires no organic solvents, with testing aimed at assessing its potential across both mining and electronic waste recycling. Lithium Universe said the results represent another step towards pilot-scale testing and commercialisation.
